Repair Options

Fix the Vehicle Yourself

You have 30 calendar days from the date of the initial test to have your vehicle emissions problems fixed and to pass a retest. You may make the repairs yourself or have them done at any repair facility. However, only repairs performed at a Certified Emissions Repair facility are eligible when requesting a cost waiver. After repairs are made, make sure the Emissions Repair Data form is completed and signed. Keep your receipts. Then take your vehicle, the Emissions Repair Data form and any receipts to an Official Emissions Test Center for a re-test. Remember, your vehicle is entitled to one free retest (test number 2) per test cycle provided that you return ,within 30 calendar days, to the test center that initially tested your vehicle.
