When a Vehicle Cannot Be Tested On a Dynamometer

When a vehicle that is normally tested with a dynamometer cannot be tested on a dynamometer, it will be tested using the two-speed idle test, which uses a tailpipe probe to measure emissions while the vehicle's transmission is in neutral.
